Question:Dear Christine,

In a speed-dating setting, what should we cover in six minutes? What are the most important subjects to cross off our list? What topics should I try to avoid?

Signed, Topics to Cover?

Answer: Dear TTC,

You want to keep things simple so that you can focus on how you feel about yourself around this person. Stick to simple questions such as:

What do you like to do for fun? Do you have any plans for the weekend? What type of work do you do? What do you think of speed-dating? Have you seen any good movies lately?

If you have some interests that you would like to share with a potential partner, such as skiing, feel free to ask if they ski. Don't worry if the conversation takes off in some direction and you don't get some of your questions asked. Remember, regardless of the topic, you will be able to pick up whether or not there is a connection.

To your authenticity,

Love, Christine
